I was full of righteous indignation on your behalf while reading this post. I’m so glad the ice pile has been moved because I seriously don’t think I could have taken it if I got to the end of the post and the pile was still there. That sounds kind of snarky but I mean it. I would have woken up tonight and been all “ice pile!” and shaken my fist. I … don’t have a lot going on right now.

My heart POUNDED AND POUNDED in righteous outrage through this whole post. WHAT THE…? I am so very glad they moved it.

But now! How to solve the irritating dog walkers and teenage trick-or-treaters? Because those things played a small part in my outrage.

Now I need to go close my eyes and allow my heart to slow to a normal rate.

Re. the insurance thing. When I worked in auto claims for a BIG insurance company, we always told our policy holders to go through their own insurance company and let the big guys battle it out with each other. It’s why you pay for insurance. Plus, the big guys have a TEAM of attorneys to fight off the loser insurance companies when they’re not doing their job. And if your insurance company is anything like the company I worked for (SF), you will not be penalized in your rates for an accident that was not your fault. The only downside is you have to pay your deductible, until your insurance company gets paid by the bad guys – then they reimburse you for your deductible. So, ummmm, if the other company is being a bunch of assholes, it might be worth talking to your own agent and going that route instead.

That ice pile raised my blood pressure considerably. What a soothing relief to have it go back down at the end of the post! I’m SURE the power of the camera is what did it! And I’m glad you found a new nanny, because that too seems very stressful.

YAY for defeating the ice pile! That would’ve depressed me too every time I would’ve had to look at it – not to mention all the damage to your yard.

Right now, I can still see grass in our yard, so I thankful I don’t have to yell at my neighbor’s snow-removal guy again about plowing snow onto OUR side of the yard and chewing up the grass.

Who cares, right? As long as it got done! Because holy shit with the warm weather the last 3 days, that would have been BAD.

My boss still hasn’t been able to find a nanny. Something is in the air!

I think I would have completely lost my sh*t if I had come home to an ice pile on my front lawn. Your calm, rational approach makes much more sense, as does inadvertently tricking them into thinking you were going to do an expose. I hope February is a much better, more calm month.
